Chipping a PS2?

I was gonna get a PSTwo for import games, but have decided it'd be less clutter to jus get my PS2 messiahed, it's a 50000 series so whats the best option for getting it modded? is there anywhere near Coventry I could get it done? If so how much would I be looking to pay as I've never had a console modded before but it'd be nice not to have to worry about region anymore. Or alternatively how much would I be looking to pay for a pre modded one and jus sell my current PS2?

Where do you plan to import from? If its only one region (i.e. either US _or_ Japan), the cost difference probably isn't even that much to buy yourself a second machine.

I plan importing from both as I'd love to play Initial D again :$ but at the same time I want to import RPGs from US due to the 50hz probs here and also the ones that aren't released, hence why I'm thinking of chip rather than jus buying a PSTwo. I looked on the chipping bit thats stickied and it's got it for every console but I cudn't find for PS2 hence why I posted.

You can't in fact sell them here anymore. You'll find all the UK sites have stopped selling them.
