    Dreamweaver Help

    Hi,

In dreamweaver I have a navigation bar that has several buttons, but the final button that I have made is just a plain backdrop and has no functionality. Pic 1 in the attachment shows the view in Dreamweaver, where you can see the button merging into the background "button". However, when I view the page in IE, there is a noticable line between the two bits (pic 2). Any ideas?

page isn't online yet mate. Pic 2 shows up a very fine line below the button, that's when viewing it in IE.

The button in IE is displaced by a pixel or two (or three, etc). When two adjacent blends are displaced slightly, it shows up like that.

Make a blend in <insert fav photo editor>, cut out a section and displace it slightly, you'll see what I mean.

edit - a better solution would be to make the button a gif and have the superfluous area around the ellipse translucent. It's more efficient and solves the problem.

Bit confused Stu. The thing is, the button and its associated background has been merged into one image. So not sure how I can make that line dissapear. I tried manufally offsetting the border but doesn't work.

Go into the HTML code and find where the two images are. Make sure there are no blank spaces or "NBSP"s anywhere between them.

Edit: did you by any chance use the built in rollover wizard and choose for it to place the buttons in their own cell? If so either check that all "cellpadding"s are set to 0, or just add the rollovers in again and tell it to put them all into one table.
