How do I check my DNS? (Xbox Live query)

Just switched from BT to NTL and now my Xbox Live service doesn't work (it says DNS not found). I know I have to check the DNS to see that it matches, but I don't know where to look on my PC (I'm useles with this sort of thing).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Start - Run
type CMD and press return - a window will open
type IPCONFIG /ALL in that window.

I've done that mate and it comes up with the following

      dhcp enabled YES
      IP Address
      Subnet Mask
      Default Gateway
      DHCP Server
      primary wins server
      secondary wins server
      lease obtained
      lease expires

      3 ethernet adaptor 1
      description
      physical address
      dhdp enabled
      ip addres
      subnet mask
      default gateway
      dhcp server
      primary wins server
      secondary wins server
      lease obtained
      lease expires

There are number etc, but I thought it best not to show these. Which one refers to the DNS?

a better method is to clone the mac address of your pc onto your xbox. LIVE will work perfectly then

get the network card's physical address and use that on your xbox

I use NTL with their cable modem, all I do is to put my pc's mac address into the xbox network settings and leave everything else set to auto.

A quick chnage of the network cable is all thats required to get LIVE running fine (obviousley I can only have 1 on at a time)

                    its the physical address

                    12 digits seperated by -

you don't need to enter the - on the xbox side of things though

ipconfig /all will tell you the physical address

so you are using ICS then ?

in that case don't bother with the mac address on the xbox, just delete that and leave it blank, have everything else set to auto though.

You need a crossover cable from the network card in your pc to the xbox and if you are running a firewall that will either need configuring or disabling whilst you use LIVE.
