    SF3 - US or JP???

I want SF3 on PS2. I am not interested in all the other earlier versions bundled with the Anniversary edition.

Is there any reason why I should, or shouldn't, just go for the import JP version? I mean, is there loads of japanese text to struggle through, or any graphical/gameplay difference, or apart from the bundle anniverary extras, are both SF3 ports identical?

    Thanks

    Bud.
Try asking in the videogame Q & A folder, for your gaming questions.

    As for the differences:
Well, you don't need to know Japanese to hadouken ;p

    Jesting aside.
Apart from butchered Capcom USA win quotes, and knowing what the options in the 'pages' you unlock do (incidently, you can find translations for these on gamefaqs) there isn't that much difference to the core game between regions.

Only aesthetical differences may be (i'm basing these off the Dreamcast version, so they may be wrong, or not. Someone with the Anniversary edition could help me here) that:
    - Alex will say "Nooooooo" instead of "Jesus" when you jab kill him on the USA version.
    - Also, when you win by time-out agaisnt Urien, you won't see him clench his arm so blood seeps out.
    - On the matchup screen (bonus game 1 vs the vehicle) it will say 'SUV' for USA, instead of '4WD' for JPN.
    - Gouki = Akuma

Get the USA version. It's cheaper (?22) has the same gameplay and you can at least read the options. You also get the old streetfighters for free.

Only get the JAP ver if you REALLY need it for some reason.

Thanks for your advice guys. You've helped me make my decision.

As long as it's exactly the same port on both versions, then I will go for the US!
