    Xbox Networking woes

    Hi

Ive got a modded xbox running with Evox and is connected to a router. Now, i was away for the weekend, came back to it today and i couldnt enter the xbox's HDD using my FTP client.

Tried fiddling about with the i.p in settings and other stuff, but i cant sort it out, and now i cant remember the original settings.

Is there anyway for me to reset my xbox so i can start from scratch re-networking the xbox to my router.

    thanks

Can you ping the xbox from your PC. Are the IP of your PC and xbox in the same range/subnet?

      This is what is on my xbox;

Tried the Evox Cd, didnt know what to do with it to format my xbox so i could start again, so is still in the same mess. I have been using SmartFTP without a hitch for ages, and the last time i moved files over to the xbox was on thursday...so i dunno what has happened. The cat5 cable goin to m xbox has been checked multiple times and also the other end in the router.

I dont know what the original settings were...but it was not working as the top of the settings it had I.P as 0.0.0.0

Help appreciated peeps. especially if someone knows how i can just format the HDD with a slayers\evox CD, if no one can sort this numerical mess i have done on the xbox.

      Bollocks

I had a few problems of late when norton did a live update.
Try switching off your fire wall and see if that helps.

mmmm I`ve just had a look at my system settings and my DNS are both set to 0.0.0.0
        And I`ve never changed it.

Jassi, drop to dos on your PC

and ping 192.168.1.104 if you get a reply we will go from there

My IPAddress on the xbox comes up 0.0.0.0 if it cannot see anything on the other end.

            Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0

I had problems with my xbox because of the third 255 in the subnet mask, if i recall correctly. Changed to 0 and everything was fine after that.

Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0 should be fine its a standard dhcp subnet, mine is set to that and works fine.

Aslong as there the same on the PC/Router/xbox is shouldnt be a problem
