FFXI and reinstalling

I'm currently having problems with my pc,and I may have to format the harddrive to sort out the probs.Can anyone tell me if I'll have any problems with the characters and ids I've already created in FFXI, or will they be safe on one of the game's servers? Thanks

No worries what so ever.

Everything is stored on the servers. Just ensure you have all your information (e.g. content ID etc..) for the re-install, and be prepared for many hours of updates.

Thanks for the info. That's good to know just in case this sort of thing happens again, fortunately enough my friend managed to save my system so I don't have to worry at the moment
