Pre-ordering Pal games from Internet sites

I pre-ordered Outrun2 from Amazon, but unfortunately it didn't arrive on Friday, Saturday or even today. I checked my order and it seems the game hasn't been dispatched, it also states the game is unavailable for 1-2 weeks.

Obviously I am furious with Amazon. I wanted to be sharpening my skills rather than writing emails to them and demanding they sort their site out. I decided to cancel my order and now I have to go to GAME tomorrow.

Can anyone recommend a site that sends pre-ordered games out in advance, so that I can have them on the day of release. The company must not charge more than ?32 incP&P for XB games.

If you use a site that never lets you down with pre-orders and the games always arrive on the day of release, please let me know what it is.

It seems my days of using Amazon are over, I just can't rely on them.

gameplay.co.uk are exceptionally good at getting games to you on the Thursday, with 1st class post (Although the pricing doesn't fit in with your remit)

    [brace yourselves gents...]

but i've heard that simplygames.com have sharpened up and the game will get to you on Thurs/ Fri.
I will need to speak to 'the source' to clarify the finer points.

There's not much all else, since i really rely on gameplay usually.

Since its OutRun2, and utterly wonderful, I gave in and bought it from Game this time. Between the ?3 off because I'd bought the game and the fact that they marked it on the shelf at only ?34.99 anyway, if cost me ?31.99.

i.e. exactly the price Amazon were charging if you didn't want cheapy Super-Saver postage.

gameplay.co.uk always gets my vote these days for preorders, normally have them a day before release too, quick and normally pretty cheap cant go wrong.

Gameplay again - Always had preordered games on day of release (or a few days before) . Just got Rome: Total War and Pokemon Green last Thursday, both a day before release. Also the prices are almost always pretty good - at least they are for PC games, not so sure about console games as I haven't bought many from them.

Always Gameplay for Pal releases. The last 5 have arrived the day before release.

Play.com get stuff to you by the official release date, too, and they're starting to be cheaper than Gameplay in a lot of cases - Outrun's ?29.99 from them, compared to Gameplay's ?32.99, Gradius V is ?17.99 compared to ?19.99. No P&P charges at Play, either.

Thinking about it, my order for PAL Disgaea from Play arrived on the Thursday, breaking the official release by a day.

Seems like I have 2 alternatives now.

                  AMAZON can get lost!!!

Anyone else use PLAY, are they usually very reliable???

play did to me what amzon did to u preordered ages ago (almost as soon as preorders went up) and im stil waiting for outrun2, But in fairness ive used them for nearly 3 years and this is the only time ive been disappointed, so i will still use and recommend them.

I wonder if these problems indicate a large demand for Outrun2?

A guy from Amazon mailed me and mentioned that there was a extraordinary demand for the title. Does anyone know if it has sold well so far?

Things do seem promising though and I feel SEGA deserve the title to do well.

Got my copy at last, from GAME, Yippppeeee!!!! 8)
