FTP program for Xbox and Mac

Im currently using Transmit to ftp to my X-Box,and tbh its ****. Its a real Russian Roulette as to whether it lets me put things on to the X-Box,and i was at a friends recently and he was using flash fxp,on a pc admittedly, and it seemed a doddle.
Can anyone recommend a good program i can use that wont cause me any headaches? (OSX 10.3.5)
    Cheers
    Nick

Mac FTP programmes and the Xbox seem to be a total pain arse to get working... I had some luck with command line FTP but stuff like Fetch, Transmit and Yummy FTP won't work for me.

It's something to do with the way the server EvoX runs is implemented tripping up the Unix-based Mac FTP apps.

I'm gonna try compiling some Unix FTP clients for OSX and see if I have any luck.

I did a bit of Googling and found a few bits and pieces. Most of them seem related to pirating games using a Mac though so I won't post anything yet.

When I get home I'll test the FTP side on my Powermac and post results.

      Cool. Cheers mate.
Someone has started a similar thread on rllmuk and a sugesstion was to use Interarchy,as they said you dont get the random errors like with Transmit and Fetch.
Im downloading it now and ill let you know if its any good.
      Unless you've already tried it?

Doesn't Mac OSX finder support what you need?
        Finder>Go>Connect to server.

TBH I'm in need of some basic help regarding FTP and OSX, I dunno how to even get the thing going.

The gold standard of macOS file transfer apps just drove into the future. Transmit 5 is here.

That'll do for starters. Finder never connects, imo. Once i work out a better way ill let you know of the program name. Im trying out Interarchy now.

Interarchy, is the way forward. Have been using it for over a year now without any real probs. Sometimes, it has trouble finding the Xbox - is normally fine if you start up your Xbox with the eject button.
Very easy to use and reliable.

Im just trying it now, just cant get my head round the layout. Seems unlike any other FTP in that you(or at least i) dont get the 2 windows side by side.

Im wondering if i have a particuarly stubborn X-Box(is this possible?) as tbh Interarchy was the worst of a bad bunch. Couldnt get one file to upload in one go,taking 3 or 4 hits of the retry buttton, and 2 of the 4 i was trying to upload wouldnt go at all.
                WTF?

Have you got it on the right settings? The only prob I've had like that was trying to upload some speccy games. It didn't seem to like 1's starting with numbers or punctuation. Interarchy 5 is easier to use than 6

Transmit works for me every time, although I had to make a seperate set of network location settings which I switch to when using the xbox. I'm using 10.3 btw. The problem I have is I can't use my modem port at the same time as my ethernet, I'm sure I could do this prior to installing panther.

It just about works but it's read only and therefore useless.

Space monkey, you can. It's quite easy to do - it must be, I'm doing it. What sort of modem? Internal? USB BB?
I'm quite happily using Ethernet and modem together, if set up properly. The trick is to configure them on the same setting. If it's a BB modem, and your having trouble, start up your (chipped, I assume) Xbox first, then your mac and connect to the internet, both should work fine.
If you need help, let me know. I set up this last month and have had OSX 10.3.5 running on my mac for ages.

I have found success using CuteFTP on my Mac.

I'm in a similar boat, although I have a pc with FlashFXP on it anyway, it's a little annoying to have to send a few gigs over the lan from the mac to the pc and then to the xbox (coz i download stuff on the mac as it's much quieter than my pc so can be left on overnight)

                          i'm on os x 10.3.5 btw

Have you tried RBrowser Lite? (or its bigger but not free brother RBrowser)
I don't own a modded XBox, however RBL has never failed me. Might be worth giving it a try.

Not sure how well it will link to your Xbox, but Cyberduck is a lovely Mac FTP client.
