Panasonic Q, playing in B and W.

My friend's got a Panasonic Q, and is playing on a big Bush TV. But it's in Black and White. Would this be because he needs a modded Q RGB lead?

Would a cheaper S-video lead to Scart solve the problem?

Just looking for the cheapest way around it.

I don't think I ever had this problem with my Q, but then again I do have a Q RGB lead.

It is because his TV doesn't support ntsc color, but does support 60Hz.

A new TV or modded RGB scart cable should fix this problem (assuming the Bush supports RGB video on scart - he would have to check).

composite video or s-video will never work, no matter how it is connected.

Or (as was the case when I first got my Cube) he had the auxillery channel set to the wrong input signal. Both my AV2 and AV3 can support both composite and S-video, but you have to tell the TV which picture type you wish to use. Set it to the other and you get a b&w picture.

But it's probably because it doesn't support ntsc colour...

Bush TVs are tricky because I hear they don't support PAL60 either, so a "PAL booster" device wouldn't work either.

If RGB doesn't work then you'll need a new TV.

DVDs play in colour though, for some strange reason. Is this right? And a RGB Modded lead would fix the games problem?

Ahhh yes I see now,

DVDs are fine, because I'm assuming it has the PAL DVD mod? So its just like playing PAL dvds on the Bush.

A modded RGB lead should solve the problem.

also try another scart socket, some TV's only accept NTSC through 1 of the sockets

Are these PAL or NTSC DVDs? I don't think the Q can output PAL60 for DVD?
