    SCART switchers

    Hey
I'm looking for a decent Scart switcher with 4 or 5 inputs. I tried a cheap, cheap Argos one which wasn't a switcher per se, you just turned on something connected and it came on as normal, but this lead to lots of interferance and odd behaviour.

    Any ideas?

You can get another one from Argos that has buttons to select input, I use it and it's ace. It also has audio out so you can hook it into your stereo and only play sound for the currently selected console.

For about ?60 (maybe a bit more) you can get the b-tech Quintro. 5 SCART imputs, all RGB enabled, plus audio outs from the box. It also has a remote control.

Reviews were very complimentry, most noting that there was little to no picture quality loss (over connecting it straight to the TV).

There are cheaper versions that have less SCART sockets, but if you want the best quality..........

Do you need the sockets to be RGB enabled? If not then you might be able to get away with something like that, although dont expect the quality to be great.

Other optionis to try and find one of the smaller b-tech ones, or a Vivanco one (try Ebay...)

My equipment isn't the greatest to begin with, i'm using a 21" Sony wega from a few years back. A lack of interferance is my main concern really, the cheapo switchers i've used had some weird side effects.

That Argos one looks like a winner for me. Sometime this forum rocks!!
