An incredibly stupid yet easy to answer question.

Can Xbox live be used via hallnet/JANET/university based fast internet access in rooms?

Unless the ports have been blocked by the uni, then yes.

My mate had Xbox Live working in Loughborough Uni Halls. But its all dependant on the network config. Which Uni you at?

I'm in Cheney at Brookes and it works a ****ing treat. You'll need to either use internet connection sharing or set the MAC address of your Xbox to the same as the PC you registered for Hallnet on.

****ing net is completely filtered incoming connections here though. No remote desktopping or VNCing in from home for instance
