Getting picked up by Google

Hi,

Any ways of getting my site picked up search engines better? Finished my site last week and submitted it to several websites using 123reg's automatic domain submission method, but It can apparantly takes ages for a site to get noticed.

For google you can submit your site with their submission form. This will ensure its picked up, but as you say can take a while.

The best way to get it picked up on google is to get a few links to your site elsewhere.

isn't there some way you can embed the keywords that the engines pick up in the HTML?

The most important thing to google for page rank is the number of sites that link to yours, and the quality of those sites (i.e the number of links to them).
