dead box

the dvd drive in my xbox is fried. i have to choices, replace entire box, or replace drive.

if i replace the drive should i go for a certain make, or should i go with the thomson on cosoles plus (?36 inc postage)? i already have my box in bits as i took the old dead thomson drive out.

ive had it since the xbox was relased if that makes a difference, like expected life span of the dvd drive

I thought the common wisdom was always that the Samsung drive was far and away the best replacement. No? With the holes in the tray.

nah, the new philips drive is equally good
