Bought one of these http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-8y-70-2kx.html via auction, and discovered it doesn't work on my teles (very distorted picture & sound). is the NTSC to PAL converter recommended by play-asia something I definitely need?

The NTSC to PAL convertor invariably leads to a rubbish picture quality.
Are any of your TVs NTSC compatible? If they are it sounds like the unit you purchased is faulty. -

Yeah you definitely need an NTSC compatible TV for the game. Do you own any other NTSC games or any PS2 games with NTSC (60Hz) modes?Comment

Dough! Thanks for trying to help. Just worked out that it was the batteries I was using. Tryed it initially with the high performance rechargable ones from my camera.....changed them for some standard batteries and it works fine. I guess there's a good reason for that?Comment
