    DS/PSP Demo's Carts/Discs

Seeing the MP Demo with the DS I'm wondering if we'll see PSP demo's discs also (or will they be too expensive to produce?) and another theme, surely both of these handhelds will warrant their own mags now, rather than a few pages in the PS2/GC press, prehaps the official Sony one could have a cover disc.

The more demo's the better, hey might even convince me to get a PSP

I'm pretty sure you wont get demo disks with any DS mage, especially with the possibilities of the wireless networking.

Im pretty sure Nintendo would just set up demo stations in retailers that would let you download a demo with your DS, considerably cheaper and gives them much more control (plus there would be no delay between finishing the demo and having it available).

Also, with multiplayer available wirelessly with only 1 game, you could end up a playing a number of games you dont own (when the console becomes more widespread), which is a pretty decent way of getting your game advertised.

As for the PSP I presume it will depend how much the media costs.

Noob question, how would this be done then ?

It would just require (i presume) a PC of some sort with a wireless router (or adapter, im not too good at networking stuff). You could then go upto the machine, or within a certain distance, connect your DS to it and download a demo. This also means you could essentially download demos to your PC and transfer them to the DS if you had a wireless network card.

I find the idea of a demo cartridge stupid. Demo CDs or DVDs I can understand, as they're dirt cheap to manufacture, but unless there's been some breakthrough in ROM production techniques (which I highly doubt), that's definitely not the case with cartridges.

I'd prefer the DS to ship either with a full game, or with nothing at all for 5 pounds less, thanks. :/

              PSP demos and DS demos...

What with the PSP already having a demo out, and the Metroid demo that came with the DS, are both formats cheap and easy enough to produce that we could infact end up getting them on cover CDs for our magazines eventually?

very unlikely for the DS I would have thought. Though what with the PSP being essentially disc based, I guess that would be do-able

The DS plan, is to have download stations for demos in shops... atleast that was a "plan"

Surely the demo on the DS would only last as long as you left the machine on as there is no where currently to save it, go and wirelessely download a demo but make sure you have a full battery! sounds great. It can only really work as expansions for existing games or if they supply you with a blank cartridge, I would think.

I would love to see Demo Pods in the UK, where you could play the latest DS Games, but just can't see it happening. Nintendo Europe is just too crap.

They can't even get games onto shelves, or decent advertising, let alone Demo Pods.

I dont really see playable DS demo pods working well, the one reason being the touch screen. Unless nintendo could sort out a demo unit with good screen protection that wasnt going to lag or effect the stylus control its just plain pointless. The no brainers/time wasters and kids would just hammer the DS screen to bits thus needing replaced every few months.
The idea of a demo booth does sounds cool but i only ever see something like that hitting japan and not here.

I think they cold just put a couple of screen protecters over the touch screen whih are dirt cheap anyway.
