      Go take a look on the AVForums site, it seems pretty conclusive that the best PQ on a like for like cost basis CRT still comes out top.

      It'll be interesting to see the differences when HDTV comes online with SKY, I'm holding off getting another plasma until then, don't want to be left with a display that has to scale down when there will be devices, CRT or not, that will be able to pixel match 1:1.

        That's quite possible - I'm just pointing out that professional monitor displays cost a fortune, because they've got a whole bunch of stuff in them that normal CRTs don't, to ensure perfect gain and colour balance, eliminate blooming and geometry errors, and maintain white temperature. Since some of those issues don't even exist on plasma, its all going to be a compromise.
