Xbox SF3 - Best Controller to use???

In eager anticipation of SF3 coming out on the 29th this month, I would like to have the perfect controller ready in advance!

Are there any decent six button pads available for the Xbox, or a decent readily available control stick that can be recommended? Ideally I would prefer a pad, but hey

Help and recommendations will be gratefully received! Thanks

Hori would clean up if they released a decent xbox fighting pad/stick with headphone support.

whoa that dc stick setup is naaasty
i love that sanwa stick though! top stuff

mine is a modded saturn stick (i know i know, but i'm used to the stick actually and it's really nice on sf3 as the buttons are better than standard dc stick buttons) that uses the circuit board from a gamester/radica joystick and the board is tiny (about 6x6cm) so it fits inside the stick. the gamester stick supports mem cards so i just need to wire up a mem card port to the stick or something. i'm also contemplating moving hte board out of the stick and just whacking a 15-pin connector on it like yours, so i can use it on my saturn, dc and ps2 but i need some time to plan (and buy project boxes from maplin )

I'm using a modded DC stick - with Sanwa buttons, switches and joystick assy (but fitted neatly so the unit doesnt look like frankenstein's monster). Used a controller PCB from a cheap 3rd party Xbox pad and wired the switches directly to it, it fits inside the DC stick casing nicely. Black and White buttons are used for hard kick and hard punch.

Yes yes yes, this is all well and good, but what about those of us who just made giant soler balls in D&T class??

                lool

well i never soldered much in d&t (i was making solder balls too, then progressed to solder splashes)

ok for those of you who don't solder, you may as well just admit defeat and buy a decent stick for another console (dc stick, hori soul calibur2, whatever) and a converter for the xbox

alternatively, the hori fighting stick ex is supposed to be good. papercut's got it i think. it's expensive though, so only if you're into sticks

as for pads, why not ask someone nicely on here to mod a saturn pad for your xbox? or what about a snes pad? (i'd prefer the saturn pad tbh. looking into removing the controller chip from an xbox pad and whacking it into a saturn pad thus keeping it tidy. it's possible...but only if you can solder well enough)

                  heya famitsu1,

It's just a normal JLF-TP-8Y sanwa with a replaced crystal type knob, not optical. I've played on an optical stick before (cvs2 one i think) and i hated it, i need to feel the click
