Are these cables any better than the normal xbox high def pack?

can't "see" you'd notice the difference tbh.

My ?30 Monster SVHS to Scart cable isn't any better than the ?8 one I bought from Argos.

Its just I read some place on here that the xbox high def pack doesn't have very good cables. I doubt I will notice a difference either but I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't that big a deal. Didn't want to be the n00b who bought the crappy official pack

what exactly are you connecting your XBrick to, a TV/Plasma etc.

Prehaps someone more experienced in the CRT line can advise you, I've always bought leads that were middle of the pricing bracket, not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Been happy with every one, just wish I could connect my PAL Box upto a VGA monitor

Thats usually what I do, middle of the range is almost always good enough for me.

Why can't stuff just do exactly what you want straight from the box? I swear the world is out to get me with cable charges If its not RGB its bloody progressive scan, arg......

To be honest, Its all about the actual SOURCE.

IE, buying a ?30 dvd player and hooking it up using ?200 component leads is silly...

By my reckoning, the ones that come in the MS pack work very well for the Xbox, I've replaced them with a ?100 component cable that I have for another piece of kit and could make out no noticeable difference... (hooked up to a Panasonic PW6 plasma).

I've got THESE and the Ps2 ones as well hooked up to my 36" toshiba CRT.

With or without prog scan the difference is definetly noticable compared to official comp cables from Sony or M$, well worth the extra money if you can afford it.

Hey bash. Did you defintately notice a difference with the Xbox ones? I take it you had the official pack before and then replaced it with these?

If you give a good report, and it is noticable, then i'll order me a set.

Yes, First I bought the gamester ones from Game (terrible) then the official ones (much better). I would've been happy with them but I bought some budget comp cables for my Ps2 (crap) switched to the official Sony ones (slightly better) then bought the Ixos which are great. After that I had buy the ones for my Xbrick too, it only seemed fair really.

I got one from a seller on ebay called oldrecords. Cost me ?10 and it was sealed! It's a good quality cable, but never worth the ?60 that Comet want for it.

Does the IXOS cable have TOSlink out?
Anyway, I have Monster component leads for PS2 and XB and they look slightly better than the official jobbies on a 43" plasma. You'll also need the Monster optical kit if you want 5.1 btw. And don't buy off ebay, there are loads of returned stock.
