    DDR and bemani syncing problems!

    Hey guys.

A bit of a tricky question here.

A while back I bought an Aqua Blue JPN PS2. As I wanted it to have it modded, and the Messiah 2 bios was not released for this version at the time, a V8 PAL motherboard was put into the machine.

Now, I'm not very good with the technical side of things, but does this make it a complete PAL machine? IE, will there be syncing problems with Konami bemani games such as DDR as there are on a "normal" pal modded machine?

    Thanks, any info much appreciated!

    Usually the case is, yes.
Worse still Bemani games are usually stealth chipped protected so you're buggered as it'll come up with an ugly logo telling you got a a chipped machine.

Hmm well I've tried a load of JPN bemani imports now, imports and there is no problem booting them up?

      Isnt Messiah 2 undectectable anyway?

I think it is, however you can switch the Messiah 2 off.

The Psx/Psone mod chip side of things is not 'stealth' protected with the Messiah 2, so mod chip protected psx games won't boot on Messiah 2 systems.

You can run protected psx games of the same region though, just hold the power button down for 5 - 10 seconds when booting to disable the Messiah 2 completely (for that session).

For full compat, you need a stealth modded psx aswell...

Or get a DMS3 (which apparently has stealth PS1 code).
