Freeloader with NTSC & PAL consoles

Just need some advice really. Is it fair to say that Freeloader 1.06B is pretty much compatible with all NTSC games on a PAL system, but PAL games on an NTSC system does not always work? If so, why is that?

I've got an NTSC Cube and have had no problems with Freeloader 1.06b.

A few games I've got don't boot using the normal method (ie just swapping the disc) but you can hit the Z button to force it to use a certain region, and this has always done the trick for me.

I believe some Jap (and possibly US) games may not like PAL formatted memory cards, and either won't save or will format your card for you, so it's worth having two memcards - one for PAL games and one for NTSC.

According to this site - http://www.choddo.com/freeloader - there are a few games that won't work with the freeloader at all, but I've not got any of em so I don't know.

I've got a PAL cube and no probs, some games you have to select region (Z) to get them to work but then they're fine.

Many recent Nintendo releases on PAL aren't working on NTSC with any version of Freeloader, or very specific ones (see Donkey Konga). Doesn't seem to be a problem the other way around though.

Thanks for your advice guys. I'm seeing whether i should purchase a PAL gamecube to go along side my Panasonic Q or just get a freeloader. But after checking out cex and ebay, getting a 2nd hand PAL cube is a bargin now so may go for that route.
