I've managed to get hold of the Monster Xbox component cable for $31 on eBay, I'll post some impressions when it arrives.

Now I need to figure out where to get hold of the Monster Lightwave 100 X optical cable so I can have digital audio.

ThoseOfTheUnlight, sadly not. The Monster Lightwave 100 X optical cable comes supplied with a patented dongle which fits to the Monster component cable and is the only way to get digital audio from the Monster component cable.
