Saturn (PDS to be specific) different country saves -- compatable?

I have a US copy of Panzer Saga, but only discs 1, 2 and 4. 3 got scratched beyond repair, so this totally ****ed me in playing it. I've recently sourced a UK PAL disc 3, but of course, this isn't much good if my save game at the end of US disc 2 isn't compatable with my UK disc 3.

Anyone know whether it is or not?

Save games are not compatible between regions on the Saturn. If you try to play the game it will make a mess of the text on the game save screen on the internal memory, and then bits of text forever will remain there unless you format the memory.
