You have a different Character Encoding on in your internet browser (probably 'Unicode').

find it in the options (under View?), and then switch it to western. Then it should change. EDIT: It's under 'View' in internet explorer, under 'Encoding'.

    Hope this helps!

Okay thanks. Why would this suddenly become a problem? Its been fine for ages and then suddenly everything is messed up.

I'm using Firefox if anyone can point me to the exact problem. Theres loads of options under view. And I mean LOADS

I use firefox as well, I have no idea myself - most of the time it's normally from user error (I normally switch to Jap Shift_JIS when i look at japanese sites without it looking funked up), but sometimes it could be down to a site changing it for you, and normally it doesn't change back.

As for actually changing it for the correct setting for english sites in firefox, go into the view section, then to encoding, then select 'Western (ISO 8859-1)'. If the small selection isn't there, go into 'more encodings', then go into western european, and it will be there as well. That will bring you back to normal english, at least for me anyway when I'm using firefox.

?'s (pound signs) show as ?'s (question marks) while I'm using Mozilla at work, but they show up correctly using FireFox at home. How rude.

So is this happening to a few people? It's all over the internet for me, not just the forums
