wifi problems :'(

Ive just bought a network card for my hp upaq 2210, and a usb wifi dongle for my pc. Ive installed both bits of software fine and my pda seems to find the pc usb dongle as well and the top of the screen has the two passing arrows to show its connected, yet i cannot access the pc in any way or form, i cant access the internet or activesync wirelessly, and ive followed EVERY guide going.

Ive given both devices unique ip addresses yet still i cant connect to the internet on my pda or anything.

One last thing, on my pc the connection shows its sending data but doesnt even recieve 1 byte of data, so i dont know whats going on. Im running windows xp.

Please help me as its really getting to me right now why it wont work.

To be honest it'll be tough to figure out what's wrong unless you actually tells us what you've done.

I'm going to guess that it's a firewall issue though.

Well ive set it up like the guides have told me, so for my usb dongle ive given it a name, turned off security so its ad-hoc at the moment and given it an ip address 192.168.0.1

I then press connect and it starts up and says its connected at 11mega bytes. I then turn on my pda, scan and connect to the network ive just turned on (my wi-fi card on my pda has the ip address 192.168.0.2) so it sees the network and connects.

The only firewall i have on is the xp firewall and ics is set to on, as i connect my xbox this way.

Yet my pda wont see any pc files, activsync or connect to the net, it'll only do these if its connected via the usb cable.
