    Progressive Scan-patched MS Dashboard !?!

i've desperately tried to progscan-patch my MS Dashboard (using the patch tool from xbox-scene.com) but for some reason it doesn't work for me! is there anybody who could just email me a progscan-patched & working MS Dashboard?

btw: i also noticed there is a new MS Dashboard version around that can be switched to progscan mode with a simple button combination!

i updated my Dashboad with the dashboard update xbe from the Chronicles of Riddick (NTSC) DVD and then tried to switch but it didn't work out either! what's wrong?

    thanx in advance!

The new MS dashboard does work perfectly in 480P already... you have to be in NTSC output video mode for it to work though. Then hold both triggers and press both sticks in and it will save as 480P.

          1) Err, no. That would be specifically against the forum rules, and a banning offense. Instead, its legally available either through Live or automatically installed when running, for example, the Star Wars: Battlefront demo in the DVD box set of the films.

          2) It definitely, definitely works, as long as your machine is set to NTSC and you have the current dashboard release.

Don't forget you've got to have a Hi-Def cable plugged in for the dash to detect before it'll switch to prog scan.
If it doesn't detect one it'll boot in interlaced.

It does work and you notice it change if you've got the correct lead plugged in.

Just to recap - on the dash press and hold L + R then press both analogue sticks IN.

already have the xbox set to support progressive display and it's properly connected through my X2VGA+ box with my Plasma TV. works all fine! i just need the MS Dashboard to make compatible!

Perhaps it's something to do with the auto-detection using the X2VGA+ box instead of the Official Hi-Def cable then.

                    What patcher are you using?

Have you tried hex editing the dash?

                          It's easy.

Get this - XVI32 Hex Editor

                          Load xboxdash.xbe

                          Search > Replace

                          Find Hex String - C7 46 28 20 00 00 00

                          Replace with Hex String - C7 46 28 40 00 00 00 (for prog scan only) or C7 46 28 00 00 00 00 (for auto-selecting)

                          Replace All and Save.

hex editing worked perfectly! thanks again!

only one remaining annoyance: the intro sequence and title screen still runs in 480i. can i do something about it?
