Hey guys, can I do this with an unchipped Xbox? I don't want a mod chip, but I will be doing the Splinter Cell save & Linux HD thingy to enable hi-def as soon as my HD cables come- can I do this at the same time?

no, the xbox won't run modified code, BUUUUUT

ir you hold in both thumbstick clicks and both triggers, it will switch the dash to 480p anyway, (and thats the official way) DVDs will not playback in 480p though.

Nah, I got the dash in progressive mode using one just by doubleclicking the thumbsticks.

Do you have to doubleclick the sticks while holding L+R? Just tried this on my dash (which updated from the Star Wars demo) and it's still in interlaced...

Works for me just by holding L & R and then clicking both at the same time. You have to have 480p enabled of course.

I do, I do... it just doesn't seem to work. I rebooted as well, to see if it'd saved for next time.

Still no joy. Ah well... I'm not so bothered that I want to faff with a hex editor.
