GTA SA discs have a real problem with PS2`s with dirty\****ty lasers due to the amount of data on the disc, if it only freezes at one point on the map it may be a dodgy disc though

A lot of the Pro Evo 4 discs are badly made which cause a lot of systems to play up.

And as for my Xbox games Even worse

Get hold of one of those special cleaning discs with the little brushes on, they're about a fiver from PC World and places. You just stick them in, they spin round and clean the laser. I was getting the same issues as you, it has literally nothing to do with the chip, it's just the build-up of dust on the lens and the density of information on the San Andreas disc.
