    PAL N64 RGB Mod?

Is there a way to modify a pal N64 to output RGB? I've searched this forum, and the entire internet - but have drawn a blank.

Dammit, there must be a way...

      Well thats wank. ft:

Thanks for taking the time to reply anyway.

I wondered about the possibility of replacing the VDC chip in the pal system with one from an ntsc system. As you can probably tell, i don't know a great deal about the N64 hardware - so this probably wont work.

I don't think there's anywhere to put it on the PAL board. It would be quicker and easier to just replace your PAL64 with an NTSC one, along with all the games you still want. Like I just did....
Except I ended up with one of the few NTSC N64's that can't be RGB modded either Doh! Getting a replacement soon.
But having recently seen the results on one that did work, it is an essential mod, as long as you use Saurian's method.
I sold all my games and console on ebay and used the money to replace everything that I still wanted (better games).

And the ability to do the RGB mod obviously is not the only benefit of doing this...
As a contributor to an import website I am duly bound to tell you that FzeroX and 1080 running at the correct speed and without borders are awesome, as is Sin & Punishment etc.

Is saurians method on the web anywhere? Ive got the old rgb mod but get a darkish screen so would like to try this way. Remember him posting pics ages ago on the old forum but that all gone.

                It's really easy man

Under the VDC chip are 3 points:

                R8 (R)
                R9 (G)
                R10 (B)

Link these to the video out port, the pins are:

                Pin 1 (R)
                Pin 2 (G)
                Pin 4 (B)

To boost the signal, link the points shown in this pic:
