I use a Isos (sp?) SVideo cable for my PS2, which was reasonably expensive at around 30 quid. However, sound on my PS2 keeps cutting out, or going from one channel to the next. By moving the cable about a bit I can eventually get sound in stereo, but before long it goes again. Id be surprised if my cable was bust, as it cost an arm and a leg and these cables seem so well made, but wouldnt be so surprised if something was wrong with the PS2. Ill try to find another cable to test it with, but until then has anyone else come across this?

marcus, I woudln't be at all surprised if it is the cable, so definitely test it with another one. I have an IXOS RGB cable and had cross-talk problems with it, and I know other people had the same problem as me. tbh I don't really trust their cables any more. They look good, and I'm sure they use good materials but it seems their manufacturing process is not up to scratch.
At least they come with a lifetime warranty so you can send it back and they'll send you a new one. At least that's the theory: I sent mine back a month ago and haven't received any reply yet.

Best thing you can do is try and eliminate the possible causes
Try something else via S-video into your plasma (DVD, for example)
Try your PS2 via a different S-video lead
Try a different Ps2 using your S-video lead (if possible)
Try your PS2 and your S-video lead with another TV (if possible)
Do that and you can find what component is at fault (if any)

Im afraid its far more simple than that.. I pulled my PS2 out and noticed that the lead wasnt fully plugged in, in my defence the lead does have to be quite forcibly pushed into the PS2 socket for it to 'click' which clearly I hadnt done before. Possibly the most embarressing thing Ive done today, although theres still time.

Happens to everyone
I thought my sub was completely b0rked when I got it this week...then I realised I'd plug the cable into the wrong socket on my sub. Then it seemed far too quiet...until I noticed the volume was on about 5%ft:
Was that the problem then? It could be something like a loose connection on the plasma though if it needs to be pushed in so tightly
