    PC Engine RAM error

Hokay. So I decided to fire up my PC Engine for a quick blast on Star Parodia. Disc goes in the CD-ROM2, Super System Card 3 goes in the card slot, power goes on. Press the Run button.

    Title music plays.
    Blue screen appears.

    WARNING!

Don't know what to do - the game won't load and all I can do is get back into the system menu. Everything else works fine - other Hu-card cames, other CD games. I'm presuming it's trying to tell me that there's not enough memory to store high scores, or something - Star Parodia's one of the titles that does that - but I can't read Japanese script so don't know how to clear the memory out. Even if that's what it is saying.

    Help?

Oh arse. I'm getting a similar error message with all the CD games that save scores and whatnot to the internal RAM.

<edit> Okay, I seem to have fixed it by reformatting it. Obviously, though, this isn't the best solution ever, because I've now lost all my old scores, so if anyone's got some idea as to what might have caused it and how I can prevent it happening again in future, that'd be great.

Perhaps a battery needs replacing, or you need to turn the IFU on more often.

I had the same problem recently, but had backed up my saves to the Tennokoe Bank.

Cheers Papercut. It looks like either the save files - or one of them, at least - became corrupt somehow, or the entire memory reverted to its original state, because when I went into the screen to delete saved games, the list was empty.

Also, it took bloody ages for the format memory screen to recognise my selecting the 'yes' option - it simply wasn't responding to any button presses, other than letting me exit the screen and go back to the menu. Finally worked on about the tenth go at resetting the console. Nasty and worrying, and I hope it doesn't happen again.
