Small Business Accounting Package

Can anyone recommend me a small business accounting package? I really have no idea what to get so am looking for recommendations first. Just need to be able to produce invoices, balance sheet, profit & loss etc. I don't want anything too in depth or too costly. It is just for a small business venture.

My friend uses something called QuickBooks. He likes it.

I used to get by with an Excel spreadsheet.

really is superb, it will do everything, plus you can pay all your tax etc. online, and if you use their payroll package it all intergrates.

Or you could use Excel. Although admittedly it's not as good

Sage, i dont use it but loads of my ex-customers do. Or failing that Small Business Accounts on the Sinclair QL - might be out of stock.

Another vote for Sage

IMO it's the only 'serious' option for this. I use it at work and it is just a fantastic piece of software. And Sage's customer service is simply stunning...if you ever have a problem they will do everything they can to help you

That is very true, about ?6 a month and they are a wealth of knowledge, which is pretty priceless.
