    Gamecube NR reader

One of those that reads NR (beta/promo/work) discs... found someone who has one spare, NTSC flavour. Now seeing as I have NTSC NR discs at home, am interested in it so I can actually try them out. But value now? What sort of price do these units have?

Seller is in Italy so shipping wouldn't be TOO bad at least...

I had one a while back, and was asking if anyone had any of them NR discs lying around! I'd have paid LOADS for them! >_<

I sold mine for ?200, unboxed, with the flaps missing off the BB and Serial covers at the bottom.

David: They have a professionally fitted switch so you can swap between US and JPN mode.

His is loose also, in good condition, with a modem installed I believe (from the pics, could be a BBA) and all other covers present. What colour was yours Tom? I've offered him 300 Euros (so a little bit more than you sold yours for), will see if he accepts.

Having a look round my collection, I can only find a Skies of Arcadia NR currently, but I've been told (from the person who gave to me as a Xmas present, yes I'm a lucky person who has nice women buying me stuff heh) it's different from the retail version. But I have never been able to boot it to find out how much different!

              Mine was dark green.

I had two copies of "Reign of Fire" from different stages of development. Hardware wise, I can gather they are simply US 'Cubes, switched (very neatly, I must say) and with a different drive. My versions of RoF had various debug messages always popping up, which was interesting

These things are the worst debug machines ever! (well almost)
Not region free & don't play retail disks.

They're only really useful to homebrew coders and pirates. I wouldn't waste that much cash to play beta discs myself.

Exactly, it was useless in my home, so I sold it.

They are region free to a point (by having the switch) but if they can't play retail games, it's pointless. Homebrew coders and pirates have no use for them either, because you can't write the discs. So it's still BBA all the way.

True at least. Seems he's accepted my offer for now. Plus I can also possibly get hold of some more NR discs thanks to my friend in the future...
