    Why? Halo 2 and Retailers

Today many people across the UK will already be playing Halo 2. Why?

Well of course some online retailers insist on sending it out two days before release. Why? Well to save there backs if the post gets delayed slightly.

But why do Microsoft set a street date of the 11th, when many gamers will be playing Halo 2 today across the UK, because they've had copies today. Apart from being somewhat slightly unfair on those waiting until tomorrow, it technically breaks the rules of Microsoft. I mean what if a shop was to sell it today? Get my drift?

Ok, I'm slightly miffed because Amazon deliver on day of release, or even after, yet many other sites deliver before. Which such a big release of Halo 2, retailers online have still broken the date. Which means plenty of people playing Halo 2 before the rest of us guys get the game tomorrow.

It's like Microsoft saying the release is:

    10th November - Those who've ordered online
    11th November - Shops

Comments? And are online retailers apart of this rule that won't let shops sell until day of release?

your better of ordering from play or gameplay, amazon have always been slow, I'd rather pay an extra few quid and get it on time/day early.

I don't mind waiting that extra day, but with such a big release they've technically broken the street date. And the fact you get smartarses taking the mick because they have the game.

So what is the problem exactly?

          I'm jealous

Well I was more wanting to know your opinions on release dates, and being stuck too rather than being willy-nilly.

Sod Halo 2. I want my Paper Mario 2!

If Microsoft were that bothered they'd delay sending the game to stores until Friday, so online retailers couldn't dispatch early.

I guess two issues arise 1) there needs to be a "This is sold from XX date" (Otherwise is it just released in dribs and drabs ??) and 2) Release dates have been broken for years haven't they ?? Nowt new just that it's easier to read about / more publised.

Look at me - Halo 2 at home for 9 hrs now and I'm at work. Not all good eh !?
