japanese knowledge needed for a few GC games...

How much does the need for japanese language knowledge is needed for the enjoyment of:

FZero
mario golf
mario tennis
viewtiful joe
wario ware

FZero GX -
Not really, as far as gameplaying goes, since the menus are in English.
The story mode however is in JPN (which in turn tells you what the task is for that part of the story - though most of them are just 'finish before the other guy/ finish the course within this time') also parts descriptions are in JPN.

Viewtiful Joe -
None needed, since the voices are acted out in English. The game has English main menu options. The items you buy in the shop have JPN descriptions. However most are easily worked out, with the probable exception of 'Ukemi' which is a tech roll - when used you suffer less damage from being knocked down.

I haven't played the others. Although if i'm right in thinking, Mario Golf & Mario Tennis will have JPN menus for both Main and subtext descriptions.

you'll be fine with wario ware, apart from a few annoying bosses which ask you text based questions.
