DHL shipping for Nintendo DS

I'm getting really desparate now for a Nintendo DS and I'm struggling to find one.

I've seen one on Lik Sang but I ain't too sure if I'd get stung on customs with DHL shipping... Can anyone tell me if I'd be safe with this option or not or should I go for the higher priced UPS or EMS shipping?

From experience you are going to get stung for customs with any of the major courier shippers. Eg DHL and UPS. Sometimes you can be safe with EMS but its hit and miss. Iv got mine coming from VG+ on launch via DHL and im pretty sure ill have to pay some customs charges but then im getting it on launch so i actually dont care anymore!

I emailed Play-Asia about Lik-Sang being cheaper and they said i could cancel my order but good luck getting it before christmas so i think im going to be quite lucky to get one on launch.

with dhl you will get hit with tax within 30 days of delivery.

VG+ said they'll be marking DSs as $20 but not a Gift.

DHL just stung me for both the items they delivered 4 weeks ago

but they dont ask for a clearance fee so it doesnt really bother me giving them the duty

Called VGP yesterday.....

They have got some DS's in

BUT only about 30 at present, they will ship tomorrow apparently. I enquired where I am on the list, im estimated to be in the 200 mark on the pre-order list (ordered on the 24th Sept). The guy apologised and stated that they have more coming from several sources, but they do not know how many. Apparently they have had several thousand ordered.

Im not confident I'll get one that soon, although he is hopefully of fulfilling as many as he can over the coming weeks.

If I recall correct they had 6000 pre-orders

So what's the best option for getting a DS to the UK? I might be getting someone I know in the US to send me over one and I can't find a decent courier.

Im sure you could get it sent USPS with extra insurance on top? Other than DHL, Fedex or UPS which are couriers.

Just curious but if VGP mark the DS down as $20, will we still get hit for customs? Surely not.
