    Dreamcast stick on PS2

I did a quick search on the forums, but didn't find anything on this.

Is it possible to build a PS2-adapter for the Dreamcast stick by slaughtering an old Dual Shock? If so, does anyone have any good links to tutorials?

We talked about it on the thread linked to - it's very easy to do, use an old stickless Playstation pad and it's easier still.

This is a good solution as this modified stick is also fine on Xbox and GC and back to DC via a converter.

Thanks a bunch. Guess I didn't search to hard...

Does it work using a Dual Shock 2, instead of an old Playstation 1 pad? Those old pads are hard to come by these days...

Dual Shock 2 works perfectly fine - but it's a little more work.

On the older pads you can just use a fibrepen to clean off the tracks on the appropriate points where the buttons contact, you can do it without using a multimeter as it's blatantly obvious what is what. On the Dual Shock 2 they are using a thin plastic sheet for the button contacts and you cannot solder onto this; you have to trace back and solder onto the points where the ribbon connector from this sheet connects to the main PCB.

Make sure you keep the analogue sticks connected if using a Dual Shock controller! - If you disconnect the sticks the machine still tries to initialize them even tho they arent there and it screws up your controls (analogue - left/up always fully on)
