At first i thought ouch 8 hours a day thats a lot. Then i realised that I'm probably going to go blind. I used my laptop for about 10 hours ish yesterday i think which is crazy. 11-2pm (was doing my work) then 4-6 (browsing on here, email etc) then 10-1am (football manager)

Soon i wont even be able to visit the almighty NTSC-UK if these reports are correct.

Edit - Yes. I'm short sighted too. Looks like my days are numbered.

Thats what the Accessibility Options are for within Windows.

Large text when eye rot starts setting in and then it reads the pages for you when you're properly blind.

I'm short sighted in one eye, and long sighted in the other. And I have a lazy eye. And a history of Glaucoma in the family. And I use a PC for way over 8 hours a day through work, and other stuff. I'm going to die, aren't I?

****. I need a timescale of all future Half Life releases, immediately!

Absolutely, at least I know now. I can break the law with gay abandon, knowing that I'll possibly die of Glaucoma related complications before being assaulted in unholy ways by Mr Big, who's in with the warders.

                  You've got three eyes?

Doesn't mention if it's CRT or TFT related (the study), so I assume it's just concentrating on screens in general. As such, I don't see how similar activities don't cause related problems (reading, being glued to the TV etc).

Not convinced, although am a keen advocate of good crt practice anyway.

I'm sure a CRT cant help given the amount of radiation they give off

Considerably lower than they used to be, though. I suspect more headaches come from people running 60hz (all my office, for starters).

                              60hz? O_o

I've just got a tft yesterday, but previous to that, the CRT was always run in 80hz
