Hey folks - any help very much appreciated...
I've just had my PC upgraded from ME to XP, and a new HD fitted (by a computer shop). The new HD has XP on, and the old HD is apparently being used as a slave. However, I've been having some problems. For example...
1) I've been trying to install my printer, but it says an RCP server (or something similar) is missing. This printer installed fine on my old HD just last week.
2) My internet connection is all messed up. I forgot to back up the dialler program from BT, so I set up the connection manually with help from a BT chap. However, it won't let me create a shortcut, citing 'insufficient RAM or disk space'. It's a new HD with not much on it and I have 256meg of RAM so I can't see what the problem is. I can access my account by clicking on IE on the Start menu, but I can't disconnect without pulling the cable out of the phone line.
3) This one might just be me, but XP doesn't appear to recognise my soundcard, even though the drivers etc are all there.
Any ideas anyone? Is there any way that my old 'slave' HD could be interfering with my new HD operating? I'm ****e with PC's, so help using easy words would be fine : D
