    weird video prob

just got myself a new gfx a 6800le(leadtek)

when i play some movie files(eg. wmvhd, avi, divx, mpeg) in 'fullscreen' i get some weird lines going diagonal on the screen... there are many so it looks like the image is really jagged.

but in some other movies i dont get the problem and the picture looks fine.

note, this only happens in 'fullscreen'
even if i pull the window box to full screen the image is still fine but when i enable the fullscreen feature the lines come back.

this has never happened before with my previous gfx.

btw, i softmod the card using rivatune(enabled some pipelines+vertex shaders) but now have turned it back to factory default. could i have broken something?

but then i cant understand how the image is fine in some movies :O

Just had a check, seems like all my mpeg clips are fine.
i also tested with powerdvd, seems like when i disable hardware processing the lines are gone too.
when playing half life 2 image is also fine.
seems like my downloaded anime only have a few lines going thorugh mid screen as opposed to many lines throughout the screen with the hardware enabled dvd disc

Sounds like tearing is a sync issue. Have you used a tool to override the default refresh rates? If so have you made sure it overrides in all modes?

      thanks for the reply babs.

I actually got the problem sorted a while ago.
I was using driver ver 66.93 from the official nvidia site.

seems like the drivers are faulty. Switched to another driver and the problem was instantly solved.
