Step Down Transformer for US Xbox

Hi

Does anyone know where to get a SMALL step down transformer (150W or VA) suitable for a US Xbox, in the UK?

(220v - 110v)

The only place seems to be Maplins at ?20 for a bulk of a thing...

try googling, there are quite a few UK retailers, otherwise play-asia and lik-sang sell em but not sure about shipping costs etc.

When I first got my original US Xbox I tried one of the nice neat tiny step downs I use for my GC, Dreamcast, Multi-Mega, Saturn, and PC Engine.

No chance.

The Xbox is that big for a reason, it needs monster power. The only step down I ever found to power it was a breezeblock (well, almost) sized affair from Maplin.

Feed the beast, it's hungry.

You'd probably be better buying a uk power board from ebay and sticking that in your Xbox, it would work out about the same price and means you don't need to mess with a stepdown
