Customs and DS's

This may have been mentioned in another thread but...

I have been reading on a few forums that there have been some problems with customs seizing DS's due to suppliers marking the value down.

If this is the case it doesn't look like great news as some suppliers mark down as a matter of course although they shouldn't

Depends how the DS'es has been sent. Its actually not a great idea to mark down you know because if something goes wrong and they nick off with it then you are only insured for the marked down value.

Of course if people ask me to then its up to them.

Only thing they would do is open the package and estimate the value then charge the courier the duty and VAT. The courier will then deliver to you and reclaim the costs plus their fee. Customs tend only to seize banned goods.

so the worse that they can do with our orders from vg+ is charge the VAT then

seeing as we don't have to pay import duty on orders from Canada

I have no idea, someone I know phoned up the customs helpline and asked them what the procedure was for importing a DS from Canada
