    San Andreas : DVD 9 ?

    hello,
Got a Pal PS2 with flip top(swap magic/swap disc thing), which can't accept dvd9. And i wanted to get San Andreas NTSC. I've read conflicting reports on the net about this game. Most claim it's DVD5(single layer),which is fine with Flip top, whereas others say it's DVD9.
Do any of you SA owners out there have any way of checking to see if it's the one or the other?
Other than the obvious dual layer = dvd9 and single layer = single layer,
the disc size of a DVD5 should be about 4.5GB, and DVD9 7GB.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

well i had terrible problems getting xenosaga running on my ps2 which is dvd-9. i have a japanese ps2 chipped with the hk messiah II chip and it plays the pal version of san andreas absolutly fine.

i think when chipping the ps2 there's no problem with running dvd9. only when using flip top thingy. Also with xenosaga, I've had the game for a year, and have not been able to play it yet! Ps3 is definitly going to be ntsc..

also, i've read a lot of interviews with Dan Houser, which has produced SA. He goes on and on about how they were afraid they wouldn't be able to cram all the data on to a DVD, and they've filled it to the brim. So it sounds as if it's DVD9. But anyone who could confirm it would be really nice. Last thing I want is another great game just sitting in my game collection collecting dust.

GTA:SA is not a DVD9. HDLoader says it can't rip these to the HDD and I've done it, ergo my conclusion it isn't a DVD9.

you most probably can play xenosaga t-dog. you just need to reset it like 50 million times to boot it up, hence why i got rid of my one

          i hope to god xenosaga 2 isn't dvd-9
