    Xbox DVD Progressive Scan Mod?

I'm looking to mod my Xbox to output progressive scan when playing DVD's so I can sell my existing DVD player and free up some space under my TV.

Does anyone know where I can download such a mod, is it easy to install, and will I need a DVD burner?

    Cheers.

If the machine is chipped you should have everything you need. XBMC supports 720p DVD playback (but no menu support). If its not chipped you need it to be.

I've a chipped JP Xbox which runs games in 480P no problem. When I play DVD's however it doesn't output progressive scan, nor does it give me an option to do so.

Microsoft are mongs - they didn't include it so they didn't annoy other DVD manufacturers, but new model PS2's have prog scan DVD playback, they should now be supporting it via a Live update. PAL machines too, the ****s.

You can use either XBMC or DVD Region X 2.0 (but DVDX needs to be patched and will only play 480p)

Are XBMC and DVD Region X 2.0 available to download from the web, will I need a DVD burner?

You can download them and FTP to the xbox. Don't ask me about where to get them though, nobody ever tells you that stuff.

When you find these 720p DVDs, let me know

Is the scaling to 720p any good, then? Or do you mean that it won't do PAL progressive?
