Starting Xbox Live using 2 Month Trial

How would I go about using my 2 month trial card and then using a starter kit?

Just turn on your XBox without a disc in, and go to the XBox Live option. Make sure you've got it connected to the net. Then go through the process of signing up etc. When it asks for the code, put in the code that you have on the 2 month trial thingy.
Play live games. Dance.
Then go to Amazon, pay ?30 for a Live starter kit, wait for it to arrive, turn on your XBox without a disc in, go to Account Managment, then Subscription, then Modify. choose the relevant option (can't remember it off the top of my head) then put in the code from your Starter Kit. The 12 months subscription will commence upon the end of your trial.

I think you can just continue your trial automatically...can't you? Please say you can!

Yeah it will automatically 'upgrade' you to a full sub if you don't cancel. This is why you have to put CC details in.

No, I don't think so. Which is why buying a kit is better.

A headset is only ?20 though, and a starter kit is ?30, so if you've already got a trial you may as well just buy a mic and continue with that.

But isn't the 12 month renewal ?40? + ?20 for headset, seems like an expensive option when the live starter kits are ?30.

The starter kit's got to be the best option. Headset & 12 months for ?40, versus ?5 a month on your card and no communicator.

Plus, if you head to Gamestation, they're doing a Kit for ?20 with any new game... I got Metal Slug 3 and the Kit for ?40 last Friday - Bargain!

It's also worth noting that once you get your starter kit you can put the code in straight away you don't have to wait for the 2 month trial to run out. The 12 months are appended onto the 2 month trial time.

So, what's in the starter kit, bar the pre paid subscription code? Just a headset? Can we use a normal PC headset?
