Some of the SNK games doesn't work right with the 4 Meg Card.

SS III FF 3 have some problems with the sprites with the 4meg card (Metal Slug is fine though). So you might want to get both the 1 and 4 Meg Carts if you plain on getting theSNK stuff.

The 1meg Cart is also all region btw

Or you could get a 4in1 cart. SNK stuff seems fine on it (SS4 etc).

Yeah, the 4 in 1 Action Replay carts seem to work fine with everything. Make sure if you do get one it is definitely the 4Mb version, some cheapsters palm the 1Meg ARs off as the larger cards.

The one and only time I used mine was with a Jap Xmen Vs Street Fighter and there were a few problems. I cant remember what they were though.

On a related note, is the PAL version of Marvel Super Heroes supposed to work with the 4MB cart? I remember the reviews claiming that it did, but most of those seemed to be written quite a while before the PAL release (so they were probably of the JPN or US version) and it doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever, to my eyes. Characters still only have one frame of crouching animation, and so on.

Of course, it might just be that my cart slot's dirty - it's always taken a bit of wiggling to get the 4MB RAM games or memory cart working.

It might not be dirty - you may have "spread" the contacts, you ho, especially if you're having to "wiggle".

Seriously, the third-party carts stretch the contacts more than proper Sega carts.

The only probs I've had with the 4in1 are backing up saves.

That sounds likely, really - I've never been too good at treating my consoles with care.

Anyone know the answer to the PAL MSH question?

PAL MSH definitely does work with the 4MB cart, but you have to go into the options and switch the support 'on' after you insert the cart.

If the option doesn't appear then the machine is not reading the cart successfully.

The extra frames are very noticeable, but some say that the slowdown is worse with the cart activated.
