if i go for 1 of the 40 quid ones i can only get 1, if i go for the 20 odd quid 1's i can get 2, is the soul cal stick ok for all fighters or do i go for the 8 button ones ?

    regards

I dont rate the Hori Fighting stick 2 at all, the buttons are too deep and the joystick is nowhere near as good as what you'd expect.

The Hori Soul Calibur 2 stick is imo better than the Hori Real Arcade Pro, the stick has a little less travel, the buttons can be pushed even from the very edges and they still push down smoothly and the 6 button layout is more comfortable and a perfect distance from the stick. The Real Arcade Pro's buttons tilt and stick if you push down on their edges and I find the base unit too big especially for long sessions, as a unit it's gorgeous but the components dont feel as good as the SC2 stick.

Check with someone that they work on the Magicbox first tho!

The only sticks I've managed to get working with a Magicbox so far are ones I have converted myself using boards out of PS2 controllers, not tried these SC2 sticks on an Xbox yet. It says on Play Asia etc that the SC2 sticks are OK with the Magicbox but get confirmation from someone here first just incase.

yea the SC2 stick works fine with the magic box.

My first disagreement with Saur where sticks are concerned

Personally i preffer the bigger base... but i do use it on a small table rather than on my lap.

I also dont like the flat buttons of the arcade stick, theres less travel but something feels strange (i put this down to having not used flat buttons on any arcade)

if you choose either the SCII or RAP you wont be getting a turd stick.

The SC2 and Real Arcade Sticks work fine with the MagicBox.

I'd check the sale forum before spending at play-asia tbh.

just ordered 2 x sticks, a second magic box and it came to 80 quid , 35 each for the sticks and 10 for the magic box, mind if i get stung for tax i'll cry, but thats not happened yet through play asia,
