You can get Swap Magic which acts as a Freeloader sort of thing.

And doesnt work with DVD9 discs. It requires you opening up your PS2 anyway.

Not with a PStwo it doesn't.

I also thought dual layer games were only a problem with HDloader... I don't know which games are dual layer or not but two likely suspects (FFX:I and MGS2) both work fine with my swap magic discs.

Probably someone getting their wires crossed about the fact that (a) its really easy to mod them so the Swap Magic works, and (b) you don't need a stepdown to run import ones.

I've just got a US PSTwo. How do I run it without a stepdown? I don't want to just try and plug something in as with my luck it will explode in my face twice. And then again!

                  MGS2: Substance is a DVD9. MGS2 and FFX Int aren't.

Oh well, there you go then! I guess I probably don't have any dual layer import games...

As I understand it, that's exactly what you do. Read the power adaptor carefully, to confirm it mentions 50Hz and 220 or 240V first, if you're paranoid.

Just use a standard UK 8 plug and plug it into the power lead bolck which then convrts the power supply for you.

Its just like the ninty power leads.
