Pokemon US & UK - compatible?

Bought Pokemon Fire Red from Simplygames the other day as a Christmas present for my sister. The gits have only gone and sent me the US version (ESRB Teen rating on the box, instead of a PEGI rating).

Does anyone know if it's compatible with the UK versions of Leaf Green, Sapphire and Ruby? I've got a feeling that all the English language versions work together, but haven't had the chance to check it out - can anyone confirm, so that I don't have to open up the box to check? Otherwise I'm going to have to return it, possibly with a turd hidden away in the envelope.

Yeah, it's cool. I've got a US and UK copy of Red and Green respectively, and they work fine

I think issues arise from trading with JPN games, although I've not seen that in person.
