Play-asia always marks down whatever I order and sign a box saying it's a sample or something, you should be fine.

                    No, not on Hardware.

If you didnt ask them to mark it down yourself, then you will be stung on the full amount.

i have been charged duty twice on items from play asia

when you ask them to mark the price down they just half it

and i believe somebody here asked play asia to do it with the ds and they were told that if it goes missing its entirely their fault

nice canadian based supllier of allthings good

Kinda looks like it would be irresponsible of them to do that then in the interest of insurance.... *sigh*

*gets ready to be ?40 lighter 3 weeks to xmas*

I use TNT for my orders from PA, usually its about ?30 including a ?10 fee which TNT take for admin costs etc, Id presume UPS do something similar. For hardware you have little choice but to factor that into the overall amount you expect to be paying, you can ask PA to mark it down which they probably will do, but not unless asked is the general idea. For single games normally you will not have to pay import duty if its been marked down, but for larger items Id expect there to be fees. Payment is usually either at the door, or sent a few weeks later in the form of a giro which you post off with a cheque. Id guess this depends on the choice of courier you used.

I explained that I had already paid vat on the item when I bought it, and the declared value was for insurance, he would not let me take the item until paid, so I told him to keep it. As he turned round to walk back to his van I grabbed the parcel and shut the front door. He was banging on it for about 10 mins and I just said that as far as I was concerned I had never seen him, and I would be calling his depot in a couple of days to find out where my parcel was.
After him threatening to call the police about 50 times and me laughing at him through the window, he eventually went, never heard anymore from them.
That story just made me laugh. Nice one
