    Super Monkey Ball 2 - 4.6: Launchers

**** me is this level doing my nut! Really bad level design, seems to go off at random... Anybody got any helps/tips or a sure fire way of doing it??

It's the one with a large pole in the middle and these square blocks that move forwards/backwards, launching your monkey up the pole.

There is a mild technique to it, its not completely random. You have to centre yourself mentally and just keep trying basically. Gauge where you are on the Birds Eye View map, that really helped me.

there is a logic to it, Jibber's right about the birds eye view, keep trying and be patient

I did try, honest I had the map zoomed out, birds eye view and had the stick centered but the damn thing just rolls off the centre piller. That's why I said it is random; you don't appear to have any control at this point >_< Doesn't help on the way back down either 'cos the ball has so much momentum to it, it usually just bounces out of the ring XD

Thank you for the video link, I shall just keep on trying.

edit: Heh, just watched the video. Blinked and missed it, it's 'one of those', not a slow "here's how you do it, idiots guide".

CM, you tried slowing it down in Media Player ?

The video does it the fast fancypants method of going through the gate on the way up - I found it much easier to start by doing what the video does - i.e. charge for the far launcher straight away, but then do my best to control the upward launch so I can aim for the central platform on the way back down, and bounce to a stop there. Then its a case of using the map to time your run off the top to land in the gate.

But yes, its a horrible, horrible level. Not half as evil as some of the World 8 ones, which I've never figured out, though.

I always found pulling back on the stick on the way up drastically reduces the height and bounce when you come in to land.

The big swirl level though (forget what number), that's worse.

Thanks - I'll see if they help. Unfortunately, because they are (understandably) stored to show off the highest scoring run, rather than as a play guide, a lot of them consist of charging forward, clipping a point just so, and magically ricocheting into the goal. Not hugely helpful to a crap player like me.

Christ, don't bring this up again, the nightmares only just went away. Took me ages to do that one. There are some eeevil levels in that game. I think there were only a couple I gave up on in the end. I fancy digging the old save file out for some monkey action actually.........
